Welcome » Blogging AS an Aspie
Matt has Asperger’s Syndrome (AS), an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and is writing this blog so that people can gain more of an insight into how people with the condition process thoughts, feel emotions, react to situations and generally handle life.

01 Jan 08 Welcome

Welcome to Blogging AS an Aspie!

I’m Matt, and 18 year old with Asperger’s Syndrome, and I live in a supported hall of residence in Sunderland.

I hope to develop this blog as a viewpoint on the world from somebody with Asperger’s Syndrome. At present, I’m concentrating on writing about my experiences with the special college I attend, following a debate-style theme of “Is specialist college provision suitable for learners with Asperger’s Syndrome?” I also look into common day-to-day issues that affect Aspies, such things like bank accounts, diet, use of the internet, social networking, going out, making friends, and generally surviving in today’s socially-oriented world.

I take a cynical view on most things, and have a tendency to be sarcastic about a lot of things, but once read, most of my postings have a good meaning behind them. I also respect confidentiality, and as such the names and identities of all in my life have been changed; I will also not identify any particular companies or establishments to which I have dealings past present or future.

Happy Reading!
